Sebastian Foltz is a seasoned multimedia journalist with extensive experience in a broad range of subjects. After attaining his master’s in journalism at the University of Oregon in 2010, Foltz went on to work freelance in Bend, Oregon. In 2013 he joined Swift Communications network of mountain newspapers and publications. Foltz spent two years as sports and outdoor editor for the Summit Daily News near Breckenridge, Colorado. During that time he covered topics ranging from Olympic athletes to outdoor news, gear reviews and local high school sports. He also covered news related to the U.S. Forest Service, ski industry and area mountain resorts. A number of his works were published by the Denver Post and Associated Press. While in Colorado he contributed numerous feature stories and photography for Swift’s various magazine publications. In 2015 Foltz transferred to the company’s South Lake Tahoe, California, office to work for the Tahoe Tribune. While in Tahoe, Foltz covered breaking news, government and the environment, in addition to outdoor news. Foltz also contributed feature content to Tahoe Magazine. He moved to Oregon in 2016 to work in the outdoor resort industry and write freelance. In the fall of 2017, he returned to his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to be closer to family and pursue journalism and public relations work.
